You are what you eat. Well, my keyword to eat healthily is ‘balance’. My interpretation of balance is to reach the harmony of five elements in food.

Derive from the theory of Yin and Yang, our organs, feelings, color of food and the taste of food are represented by different elements/forces from the universe (wood, fore, earth, metal and water). Therefore, when all the elements/forces are balanced they promotes better health. When they are imbalanced they produce destructive effects like illness. They are exclusive but inter-related. You may refer to the web sites listed below for more comprehensive info.

Tips to have a balanced diet:

1. Understand the Five element/forces relationship

The relationship between the five elements and body parts, feelings, colors, and taste

Generating cycle: promotes harmony and well-balanced

Control cycle: using the opposite elements/forces to control imbalanced elements/forces

2. Consume balance food by knowing what elements they fall in.

3. Consume all five color food (green, red, yellow, white, black/blue) in every meal or at least one meal per day. They provide balanced antioxidant to prevent illnesses like cancer, heart attack, high blood pressure and etc)
